Somewhere In Macedonia

‘Somewhere’ is an on going film project based on a series of letters which explores the lives of two gay soldiers during the First World War.

It was inspired by a real series of letters sent home from Thessaloniki in 1917 each one titled ‘Somewhere In Macedonia’ in order to pass censor.

A short version of the film was made in Camden in 2016, produced by Eleanor Pole and featuring Iddon Jones, Julian Firth, Gethin Alderman & Harrison Rose. The soundtrack was kindly provided by members of the London Gay Symphony Orchestra and composed by Stefan Melzak.

We are now developing an original feature film with our production company ‘Tiny Circus Birds’.
